I relate at about 86%. I can't shift because either i don't know how to or i can't. I yield from a druid family. everything is taught verbally ,and when it try to bring it up i am shut down. It's like my parents don't want me to know about my heritage. I tried to figure it out online but came up empty. This last time i was trying to explain what little bit i know and my girlfriend asks "are u a vampire?" so i started to question myself. i have read the site fully and wound up here. I am ignorant as to what i am and confused as to why my parents would shut me down when i try to find out.

Well, I'm a Druid, and I believe you're confusing the religion. Have you researched your own religion? Mayhap your confusion on answers lie there.

Don't misunderstand me, I believe your beliefs to be valid, it's just from what I was taught on Druidry, it's more about nature and elements rather than shifting into animals, like you implied in another post. Yours sounds like Therianthropy. The legit kind, not the social fad.

Raw pork and raw fish (yes that includes sushi) are the ones that can give tapeworms, beef isn't a tapeworm risk.

Ah. Still wouldn't dive into raw meat, though.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you can still get sick for a short period of time if the meat isn't handled correctly. But it's nothing to freak out about

I thought you could eat steak raw? As in I have been to a French restaurant where they serve a speciality dish that is a raw steak, with a raw egg on top-not that I tried it! Anyway, welcome to the site

You can eat it and you should be fine, it's just that raw meat is slightly more likely to attract bacteria than most other foods. It's really nothing to worry about

Unless you're selling it then you need to insure you keep the meat completely separated from other foods and tools used with other foods. Although you should probably always be careful about this

This applies to kitchen preparation, too. You should always use different cutting boards for meat vs anything else so you don't cross contaminate.

For vampirism, it's more about how the blood affects you. No blood makes us sick. But raw steaks can still give us tape worms and other such, so. actually i find tee blood of druggies such as heroin addicts or other blood affecting drugs quite sickening

That's what I meant. If we drink a normal human's blood, we'll temporarily gain a skill they could do that we couldn't before. I don't think drinking a drunk person's blood or a druggie's blood transfers the ailment to us, but it might. I've never tried it, so.
